Peter Andre says people are always telling him that he is punching above his weight with his wife Emily.
But he says he takes it as a compliment that people think the nurse is out of his league.
Pete spoke about the subject after Love Island star Luca Bish ’s caused controversy when he said that Mark Wright is also "punching" with his wife Michelle Keegan.
Writing in his weekly OK! column, the singer says: “Love Island star Luca Bish recently claimed Mark Wright is “punching” with his wife Michelle Keegan during an episode of the show.
“A bit harsh if you ask me. Mark is a good looking fella. Together he and Michelle make a great looking couple.
“I’m not sure why Luca said that, but hey we all say stupid things. People tell me all the time that I’m punching with Emily.
“I don’t mind as I think it’s a compliment. I love it, and let’s be honest she is a beauty!”
Sharing a photo of himself looking baffled in bed, Mark wrote: "8:30am in Sydney…. minding my own business (literally sleeping) Waking up like…. What did I do? #Luca."
Social media commented on Mark's post, with one saying Luca 'really came for you out of nowhere'.
Luca, 23, made the comment during a recent episode as he discussed whether he was also “punching” with partner Gemma Owen with fellow Islanders Adam Collard and Paige Thorne.
Luca started the conversation by mentioning Mark and Michelle, both 35, as he said she was well out of Mark's league and that he was "punching” – which the trio all agreed to.
Meanwhile, the fish monger got into a heated exchange with Paige as he claimed he was evenly matched with dressage rider Gemma, and not punching above his weight by trying to date her.
Commenting that it was a "good thing", Paige turned her attention towards Luca as she light-heartedly told him he too was punching above his weight.
Luca immediately replied: "No I f****ing ain't."
