Pete Wicks has addressed concerns raised by fans over his "abnormal" looking face when he appeared on I'm A Celebrity to support best friend Sam Thompson.
The former The Only Way Is Essex star, 35, made a surprise visit to the Australian jungle last week to enjoy a reunion with Thompson, who went on to win the ITV reality show.
Some fans questioned online what was up with Wick's visage however, pondering whether he had undergone some sort of cosmetic surgery, as his face looked puffier than usual.
The Essex native has now cleared up the matter and insists it was the result of an allergic reaction following an animal encounter.
After sharing a photo hugging Thompson in a hotel lobby on Instagram, the long-haired TV personality followed up with an explanation.
"Also, you’ll all be pleased to know my face has returned to normal following the horrific reaction I had to the mosquito bites," he penned.
"They saw my face and thought it was an all you can eat buffet."
He then shared a current selfie of himself, which he captioned: "Thankfully my face has returned to normal following the brutal and unprovoked attack by Australian mosquitos.
"Thank you all for your support during this difficult time."
Former Made in Chelsea star Thompson, 31, was crowned King of the Jungle on Sunday night, beating retired boxer Tony Bellew, 41, who finished in second place and former politician Nigel Farage, 59, who came third.
Next year will see him and Wicks head on a UK tour of their hit podcast Staying Relevant.
