The Minnesota Vikings require urgent assistance at the wide receiver position to complement Justin Jefferson. The NFL Draft presents an excellent opportunity to address the void left by the team’s release of Adam Thielen this offseason.
On Thursday, Pete Prisco from CBS Sports published a mock draft with the Vikings selecting USC wide receiver Jordan Addison.
They are in need of a receiver to pair with Justin Jefferson, so they make a move up to get Addison, who might be the best pure receiver in this class. He looks like he can be a 70-catch guy right away. That will help Jefferson and Kirk Cousins.
Addison is a possession receiver with the ability to make plays after catching the ball. He’s renowned for his short-area quickness and excellent route-running skills. Addison is a crafty receiver who uses his subtlety to gain separation, enabling him to exploit single coverage while Jefferson draws attention.
Adding Addison to the Vikings’ offense would be an excellent move. This could provide the team with the potential for a dynamic duo of receivers for the next decade.
