The Pet Shop Boys delivered to a tee their musical style with an energy that was electric and an atmosphere that was pulsating as they took the stage at the M&S Bank Arena on Friday.
With their signature blend of synth-pop beats, catchy but nuanced lyrics, and elaborate set, they proved why they are true legends of the industry.
The duo, composed of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, demonstrated their knowledge of how to curate a masterstroke of a setlist by opening the show with fan favourite Suburbia.

From that moment on, they commanded the audience's attention as they followed their hit single in quick succession with Opportunities while Where the Streets Have No Name (I Can't Take My Eyes Off You) had the crowd on their feet.
Continuing the journey through their illustrious career, Tennant's distinctive and rich vocals were showcased by iconic records such as Heart, and It's a Sin, while more recent gems like Dreamland highlighted Lowe's command of electronic instruments by mixing modern electro-pop and house music.
Credit should also be given to Clare Uchima from the backing band, who effortlessly stepped into Dusty Springfield’s shoes to perform What Have I Done to Deserve This in a duet with Tennant.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Pet Shop Boys performance without a visually captivating stage production. From the backdrop to the lighting effects and costumes, every element created an immersive experience.
Enhancing the interactive atmosphere, Tennant's stage presence and interesting anecdotes added to the audience's connection. He also encouraged sing-alongs leading to an almost sell-out crowd screaming Go West which in turn forged a sense of camaraderie.
The Pet Shop Boys' first greatest hits tour, which they announced after a rapturously received set at Glastonbury in 2022, left no doubt that the duo is a force to be reckoned with. This concert was a celebration of their enduring legacy, making it an unforgettable experience for all fortunate enough to be in attendance.
