Rising pest resistance is pushing India’s crop-protection industry towards newer molecules, differentiated formulations, and integrated solutions, as farmers increasingly look beyond conventional products for greater efficacy and better value for money, according to Rajesh Aggarwal, Managing Director, Insecticides (India), a major agro-chemical company.
Resistance to chemicals and formulations is an evolving challenge, particularly in crops where the same pest pressures persist over multiple seasons, said Aggarwal in an interview with The Economic Times Digital . For crop-protection companies, this is creating a need to continuously develop technologies that can address changing pest behaviour while improving safety, sustainability and cost-effectiveness, he added.
