Perthshire Hockey Club dish out the prizes at return of popular awards dinner

An evening of recognition and good times was had at Perthshire Hockey Club’s presentation night last Friday.

Around 60 members gathered at the Royal George Hotel in the city centre for the first annual awards ceremony since 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

John Stephen, of sponsor Stephen Homes, presented the well-earned prizes and he was thanked for his continuing support of the club.

The Royal George Hotel was also praised for playing “wonderful host” from start to finish, offering up great food and service.

President’s Award, The Campus Sports Cup – Stephen Pedgrift.

Club Award, Helen Segaud Cup, for outstanding service – Robbie Preece.

Ruthven Cup for team of the season – Men’s first XI.

Harry Gallacher Cup for ladies’ top goalscorer – Lexie MacMillan.

Stephen Pedgrift Cup for men’s top goalscorer – Michael Robertson.

Ladies indoor top goalscorer – Siobhan Penman.

Frank Russell Quaich for most promising young female player – Riley Thomson.

Walter Cochrane Quaich for most promising young male player – Jamie Stewart.

Young female player of the year cup – Olivia Elliott.

Young male player of the year cup – Euan van Aswegen.

The Magic Basket for U14 girls’ player of the year – Farrah McCulloch.

The Duncan Award for U14 boys’ player of the year – Joe Collins.

Macnabs Cup for ladies’ first XI player of the year – Olivia Laing.

Lynne Ferguson Shield for ladies’ second XI player of the year – Robyne Wylde.

Ladies third XI player of the year plate – Grace Rocks.

Macnabs Cup for men’s first XI player of the year – Michael Robertson.

The Smith Cup for men’s second XI player of the year – Euan van Aswegen.

John Smith Shield for men’s third XI player of the year – Thomas McInroy and Alex Cook.

Men’s fourth XI player of the year shield – Murray Cameron.

Ladies indoor player of the year quaich – Siobhan Penman.

Youth volunteer of the year –Molly Sands.
