It is a “personal decision” for Sir Keir Starmer on whether he wants to fight in a Labour leadership contest, one of his senior ministers has said, as rivals gather to oust him.

Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy also said it is up to the Prime Minister whether he wants to take the “next fight forwards”, after Wes Streeting and Andy Burnham began laying the groundwork to challenge his authority.
