Persona 4 Revival seemingly features more scenes with Marie, fuelling hopes she'll be integrated better than in Golden: "If they do that, the remake will have fulfilled its purpose"

New Persona 4 Revival footage has shown a new scene with Marie, leading to hopes that she'll be integrated better into the story than she was in Persona 4 Golden.

It's a trend in Persona games that when the updated version of it comes out, there's a new character integrated into the story who becomes a vital part of the new content – and by a trend, I mean it's happened twice. Persona 4 Golden introduced Marie to the story, a Velvet Room attendant who is a bit abrasive before opening up to the investigation team and protagonist. But she's a bit awkward in her integration, with many in the fandom dubbing her Poochie (in reference to a top five Simpsons episode).

However, Kasumi, introduced in Persona 5 Royal, has conversely become one of the most beloved characters in that game, and was overall integrated far better than Marie was for Persona 4 Golden, as if Atlus took the feedback about Poochie to heart. And from the looks of things, there may be some more Marie in Persona 4 Revival.

In the Persona 4 Revival character overview trailer, fans noticed that the scene shown alongside Marie is on the night of April 17, which would be after beating one of the game's first major bosses. The thing is, this scene doesn't exist in the original Persona 4 Golden, with Twitter user MeovvCAT speculating that this scene will play after the protagonist gets a tracksuit from Morooka.

And despite the mixed reception to Marie, response to the idea of more of the character is generally hopeful. Replies to the post include one user saying, "Hopefully learning from Kasumi and how to better integrate Marie into the overall story." Another adds: "What the remake needs to do, and I hope it succeeds, is to better integrate Marie into the story. If they do that, the remake will have fulfilled its purpose."

Persona 4 Revival changes some of Yosuke's controversial scenes: "We wanted to lighten that up and make it a little bit more fitting for the world we live in now."
