Persona 4 Revival finally gets a release date, and boy does it look good

The wait for Persona 4's remake will be over soon. During the Xbox Games Showcase, Atlus announced the RPG will release on February 18 2027. Though fans waiting for Persona 6 news will have hope more good news breaks for the show is over.

Persona 4 Revival, which was first revealed last year following the success of Persona 3 Reload is a remake of the 2008 original. The fourth entry in Atlus' beloved RPG series is considered one of the best entries. It had a large role in boosting the series' popularity thanks to Persona 4 Golden, an updated version of the game for PS Vita released in 2012.

Persona 4 Revival will follow the same story as the original. You'll take control of a young man who recently moved to the countryside town of Inaba and finds himself investigating a series of mysterious murders related to the supernatural Midnight Channel. Like other entries in the series the game will involve dungeon-crawling turn-based combat and an emphasis on social links with party members.

Just like Persona 3 Reload, Revival boasts impressive new graphics. It also features an overhauled user interface with the style Atlus has become known for. One of the most interesting tidbits the latest trailer reveales is that Revival will feature content from the Golden release of the game, as we see Marie's S-Link. This marks a departure from how Atlus approached Persona 3 Reload, which only contained content from the original release of Persona 3 and not it's multiple subsequent versions.

Another detail that will disappoint some fans is the confirmation at the trailer's end of Revival's platforms. The remake will release on Xbox consoles, PS5, and PC. Notably it will be skipping Nintendo Switch 2, at least on release. Of course, Nintendo players can still get their hands on Golden right now, though it won't have all the new bells and whistles.
