Person taken to hospital after crash sees cars leave the road

A person has been taken to hospital after a crash in North Somerset. Emergency services were called to a crash on Whitehouse Lane, by Noah's Ark Zoo Farm, at lunchtime today (July 22).

Pictures from the scene show two vehicles on the road's verges as well as an ambulance and a police car. One person was taken to Southmead Hospital after the collision.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 12:55hrs to a road traffic collision in Bristol.

"We sent a double-crewed land ambulance and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Southmead Hospital."

In other news, an elderly woman is in hospital in critical condition after being hit by a Royal Mail van. The crash happened in South Gloucestershire earlier this month.

And a man has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries after an incident at a Shell garage in South Bristol. Police have also arrested a man in connection with this incident and remains in custody.
