East Midlands Railway (EMR) has confirmed a person was hit by a train in Nottinghamshire. The incident has been reported between Nottingham Station and East Midlands Parkway.
Nottingham, Newark Castle services have been disrupted, as well as routes in London, Crewe, Leicester, Lincoln and Grimsby.
Emergency services are reported to be on their way to the scene to manage the incident. Network Rail are also preparing to send a team to the area.
Trains running through the area in both directions cannot run between Nottingham and East Midlands Parkway and Long Eaton. A spokesperson for EMR said it does not currently have an estimate for when the line will reopen.
Trains are now expected to be disrupted for the rest of the evening, with around 60 minutes of delays to be expected.
An update issued by EMR read: "We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train between Nottingham and East Midland Parkway. This is disrupting our trains on the London / Nottingham, Newark Castle / Crewe and Leicester / Lincoln / Grimsby routes.
"More information to follow."
This comes after reports that a person had been hit by a train between Warrington Central and Liverpool Lime Street earlier this evening (November 22). The incident meant that routes in Nottingham, Norwich and Liverpool were delayed.
