East Midlands Railway services on the line between Nottingham and London have been disrupted after a person was hit by a train. The line is currently closed between St Pancras and Luton, with EMR services from the capital to Nottingham/Sheffield affected.
The emergency services and Network Rail are at the scene. In a statement, EMR said: "We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train. This has occurred St Pancras and Luton and is disrupting our trains on the Intercity and Connect route. At present emergency services and Network Rail are on site assessing the incident."
EMR expects disruption to continue until 9.30am. The railway operator apologised for any delays to journeys.

EMR added: "At present we are expecting the line to re-open in the next two to three hours. As soon as the line is open again, our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. We expect our advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 9.30am.
"You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed by 60 minutes. We are sorry for the delay to your journey today.
"We are currently looking at alternative arrangements to keep you on the move. Please remember that this can take time and be assured that our team are working tirelessly to arrange this as quickly as possible for you.
"We appreciate your patience whilst we do this. Our trains are likely to experience extended delays or alterations. You should use alternative routes which will be most comfortable and quickest way to get where you need to be."
