A person has been found dead on a railway line in Wigan.
Police were called to a stretch of track between the Wigan North Western and Euxton Balshaw Lane stations shortly before 9.05pm yesterday (Friday) following reports of a casualty.
Paramedics attended but the person was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. A file will be passed to the coroner.

The age and gender of the person has not yet been confirmed.
In a statement, a British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to the line between Wigan North Western and Euxton Balshaw Lane stations at 9.04pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended however sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
