A person was found dead on the train tracks at a station in Greater Manchester last night.
Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to East Didsbury station at around 10.40pm. Sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said officers are now working to identify the person and contact their loved ones. Their death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.

In a statement, a BTP spokesperson said: "Officers were called to East Didsbury station at 10.41pm last night (23 May) following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are working to identify the person and inform their family. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
