A woman has been rushed to hospital after a three-vehicle crash in Fife on Tuesday morning. The incident took place around 8.30am at the junction of the A919 Station Road at St Bunyan's Place in Leuchars.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, with traffic still backed up in both directions around an hour later due to the incident.
One person was blue lighted to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee following the crash, but no update was available on their condition.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to attend a three-vehicle crash around 8.28am by the Scottish Ambulance Service.
"The incident involved two cars and a van. One casualty was released from a vehicle and was en route to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. We left the scene around 9.04am."
Stagecoach East Scotland posted on Twitter to say the accident was causing a delay to its services in that part of the town, with drivers in north-east Fife being diverted by police.
The bus firm posted an update to say that services were being diverted via Leuchars Army Base. Footage on social media showed huge queues of traffic in the area around the crash.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.30am on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, officers were called to a report of a three vehicle crash on St Bunyan's Place, Leuchars.
“One woman has been taken to hospital. The A919 at St Bunyan’s Place is currently closed.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.
