The permanent traffic ban on College Green is set to come into effect on Monday next week.
Private cars are currently permitted outside the hours of 7am and 7pm during weekdays. However, they will be banned on a 24/7 basis from Monday.
Local Access to the Dame Street and College Green areas and to the Bank of Ireland and Fosters place will be maintained for general traffic but they cannot exit using the Bus Gate. Business representative group Dublin Town had previously voiced concerns about access.

Dublin City Council hopes the new traffic measures will help ease city centre congestion and motivate people to use public transport and active travel. A spokesperson said: "Dublin City Council would like to remind the public that the expansion of the College Green Bus Gate will begin this Monday morning.
"From Monday May 29, 2023 the current College Green bus corridor will be expanded to 24 hours, 7days per week, prohibiting private vehicles from travelling through in all directions."
"Local Access to the Dame Street/College Green area and to locations such as the Bank of Ireland and Fosters place will be maintained for general traffic BUT they cannot exit using the Bus Gate."
They added: "General through traffic travelling eastbound on Dame Street who previously used the College Green Bus Gate outside operational hours, must now use alternative routes around the area and should not attempt to use this Bus Gate at any time and the same applies to general traffic on College Street.
"The College Green Pathfinder Project will help alleviate public transport congestion in the city core, prioritising public transport at all times."
Taxi spaces will be reduced in Foster Place and increased at the College Green taxi rank. Decluttering of signs, poles and bollards on College Green has already begun.
