'Perhaps he saw something' - Tim Sherwood says 'strange' Liverpool exit could be connected to FSG sale plan

Tim Sherwood has questioned whether Michael Edwards 'saw something in the pipeline' regarding Fenway Sports Group's reported decision to sell Liverpool.

The former Reds sporting director left his role at the end of last last season after a decade on Merseyside, citing a desire to spend more time with his family as one of the deciding factors. Julian Ward took over and proved instrumental in the summer signings of Darwin Nunez, Calvin Ramsay and Fabio Carvalho.

Earlier this week, the Athletic reported that FSG had prepared a sales presentation and retained Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley as they looked to sell the club. The American owners released a statement explaining how they are looking for investment, but have had the entire club valued, leading to uncertainty as to their stance.
