Claims that Andy Burnham has been preparing for life in Downing Street for at least a year are “perfectly reasonable”, Rachel Reeves has suggested.
The Chancellor however warned Mr Burnham, who is all but guaranteed to become the prime minister in just over a week, that he must remain “laser focused” on what he wants to achieve in power.
