Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy believes it makes 'perfect sense' for Neco Williams to seek a new challenge this summer, either on loan or on a permanent basis.
The 21-year-old right-back enjoyed a productive second half of the 2021/22 campaign at Fulham, helping Marco Silva's side seal their return to the Premier League after winning the Championship title.
Williams now returns to the Reds with a battle on his hands for game time, though not be short of offers this summer after also playing his part in Wales clinching World Cup qualification for the the first time in 64 years. He will hope to be called upon later this year when Rob Page's side travel to Qatar for the tournament.

The ECHO understands Liverpool have slapped a £15million price tag on Williams as they prepare for an influx of interest in the defender. Jurgen Klopp's side also have their own plans for the right-back position as they continue their pursuit of 18-year-old Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen.
Taking all of the above into account, Murphy believes it therefore it is in the best interests of both the club and player for the Wrexham-born full-back to explore alternative options during the transfer window. Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: “I think so, (pushing for a move ahead of World Cup), that would make perfect sense. You wouldn’t want to miss out on this wonderful opportunity by just not getting game time, even if it means just a loan.
“He did well actually against Ukraine. In terms of personal motivation, when you are looking to succeed in your career as a young man and you are trying to, either find a club or establish yourself at a club, it gives you more incentive.”
