Guardiola speaks out on Kompany's return
Pep Guardiola expects Vincent Kompany to be back in the dugout at the Etihad beyond the FA Cup quarter-final.
Kompany will be back at the stadium that boasts a statue of him outside the ground for the first time as a manager this month when his Burnley side challenge Manchester City for a place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup. While some expected the Clarets to struggle after Premier League relegation, the appointment of Kompany has seen them storm to the top of the Championship.

United put paid to Burnley's hopes in the League Cup and City will hope to do the same in the FA Cup, yet that would not dent the success of their season under Kompany - especially if they are able to earn promotion back to the Premier League. After a spell at Anderlecht, Kompany has impressed Guardiola to the extent that he believes the only question over his appointment as a future City manager will be when it happens.
City provide injury update ahead of Newcastle
City could have a fully fit squad to face Newcastle on Saturday, with John Stones and Aymeric Laporte nearing a return from illness and injury respectively.
Laporte has missed two games with illness but is back in training, and Stones has been missing for a month with a hamstring problem after limping out of the win at Arsenal.
