Manchester City need to avoid losing any momentum in their Treble push, according to Pep Guardiola.
City are aiming to do what only one English team has ever done in winning the three biggest competitions on offer to them, but Guardiola has previously managed that at Barcelona. In his first season in charge at Camp Nou, the Catalan guided his boyhood club to La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Champions League.
Guardiola has continued to excel at the highest level since and his City side have won the Premier League and are also in two knockout finals; they play United in the FA Cup and Inter Milan in the Champions League. Winning all three competitions would elevate their status in the conversation of the greatest teams seen in club football.

Guardiola remembered the feeling in the Barcelona squad in 2009 when his team had the same aim, and the lift that they got from winning the first and then the second competition. If City are to give themselves the best chance at history, they need to keep the momentum.
"Winning one title helps to win the second and winning the second helps to win the third. The dynamic and the mood helps you a lot," said Guardiola, speaking before the Premier League title win was confirmed.
"Not winning the Premier League will make it tougher to beat United and not winning the FA Cup will make it tougher to win against Inter. I remember that perfectly.
"That's why as soon as we are able to win the Premier League, it will help to fight against United that will be so difficult for many reasons."
