Pep Guardiola confirms next Man City target - and it involves Tottenham

Pep Guardiola has laid out his next target for Manchester City should he win the Treble this season, and it involves Tottenham.

City have already wrapped up a fifth Premier League title in six seasons, thanks to another remarkable end-of-season run of 12 striaght victories as Arsenal struggled with the title race pressures to drop points in the run-in.

Once the league season is concluded, City will face rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup Final and then Inter Milan in the Champions League Final in back-to-back weekends.

The feat would match United's historic achievement from 1999 and cement City's status as one of the greatest teams in English football history, if not European football history.

And Guardiola already has his eyes on the next historic target. Asked the question by Sky Sports, Guardiola replied: "To score a goal against Spurs away ... I want to beat Spurs away!"

Despite Tottenham's woes of late, along with City's dominance, they boast a fine record against the country's best side: winning five of their last seven league meetings.

Since moving to their new stadium, Spurs have won all five home games against City, across the league and Champions League, all without conceding.

The last time Spurs conceded against City at home in the league was way back in 2018, in Guardiola's second season in charge and before his first title with the club.
