Nathan Ake has been ruled out of Manchester City's clash with Sheffield United in the FA Cup.
Ake has been a pivotal part of the City team this season and has nailed down the left-back role, allowing the team to allow Joao Cancelo to leave on loan to Bayern Munich. But he suffered a hamstring injury in the quarter-final away in Germany, having to leave the pitch with Aymeric Laporte coming on to replace him.
The defender felt initially that it was similar to a previous injury but not as bad as that, although scans have shown that the problem is serious enough to rule him out at the weekend. Pep Guardiola isn't certain how long Ake will be out but knows that Saturday will come too soon.

"He's not ready for tomorrow but I don't know how the damage is. They made the final tests this morning to know exactly how he is."
With Cancelo gone, City have a couple of options to replace Ake. Sergio Gomez was signed this season as a left-back, Laporte can play there while youngster Rico Lewis could also feature.
Guardiola will also have to weigh up how many changes he wants to make for the semi-final as he discovers the health of his squad. The manager said he will not find a player who does not want to play, but will have to wait for the medical assessments after such an exerting game in Munich.
