Pep Guardiola confirms Man City injury absence for huge clash against Liverpool

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has confirmed Ruben Dias will not be available for Sunday's crunch Premier League clash with Liverpool at the Etihad.

The two sides meet in what is shaping up to be a decisive fixture in the title race as the Reds sit just one point behind City in the table. The Citizens, though, will be without central defender Dias.

The 24-year-old was a doubt after he missed their last three league matches, as well as their recent Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid. Now, Guardiola has confirmed he will once again be sidelined at the weekend.

He told the media in his press conference on Friday: "Everyone is fit. Not Ruben."

In his absence, the City boss has rotated between Aymeric Laporte, John Stones and Nathan Ake in the centre of their defence. It was Stones and Laporte that lined up against Diego Simeone's side midweek in the Champions League.

Jurgen Klopp is also in a strong position with an entirely fit squad available to face the current league holders. The Liverpool boss also shared in his press conference on Friday that he has everyone at his disposal.

Trent Alexander-Arnold faced a race against time after he was ruled out of the FA Cup clash against Norwich last month and the international break with England due to a hamstring problem. However, the right back returned to action against Benfica on Tuesday night
