Pep Guardiola Agrees New One-Year Man City Contract Extension

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has agreed a new one-year contract extension to stay at the Etihad, according to reports.

Guardiola’s current deal was due to expire in June 2025. However, the Spaniard looks set to stay with the Premier League champions until the summer of 2026.

The former Barcelona and Bayern manager had been linked with a move away from the club. Especially in light of City’s FFP case.

If Guardiola does pen the new deal, it’ll mean he has been with the Cityzens for a full ten years. During his time in the dugout in the blue half of Manchester, he has lifted 18 trophies.

He has overseen a total of six title wins and the UEFA Champions League in 2023. In the process, making Man City one of the best teams in world football.

Pep Guardiola To Sign New Manchester City Contract

Over the summer months, Pep Guardiola had been linked with the England and Brazil job. The Spaniard has often remained coy about leaving the Cityzens but supporters can start to rest easy.

In theory, both international positions didn’t appear to suit Guardiola. He has always preferred club management and will now stay on with City.

A future role at the helm of a national side may be something he is considering whenever he does leave the Etihad. But for now, he won’t be going anywhere.

An official announcement is set to come shortly from the English champions. It’ll likely provide a huge boost to everyone associated with the club after their poor run of form.

Director of Football Txiki Begiristain’s departure also dampened the mood around the City camp. Now, Guardiola can fully focus on reigniting the Cityzens title charge.

According to the best football betting sites in the UK, the champions can be backed at 9/4 to claim a record-extending fifth title triumph.
