Dozens of estates are yet to be claimed in Merseyside.
If someone dies without leaving a will, officials monitor whether a lawful heir has been made to claim their estate. However, if no claim is made, the money could make its way into the UK Government's accounts.
Every year, the Government publishes the names and information about people who have died and left an estate unclaimed, with no heirs found to take ownership of their property. From the day of death, you have 12 years to apply to claim an estate in the case of money, or 30 years otherwise.

If you are eligible to inherit it, you must provide a family tree that proves how you are related to the individual. The Government's Bona Vacantia division encourages individuals who believe they may be an heir to the estate - perhaps they hold the same surname or recognise the name of the deceased as a relative - to check if they are entitled to make a claim for the property.
The Treasury has published the names of individuals who died whose heir could not be tracked down, with a connection to Liverpool and other parts of Merseyside. We have also included the people who were born in Merseyside.
