'People will die as a result of the fatal complacency of this Tory government'

Risking all our health

As NHS waiting lists are up to a record six million in England alone and braced to rise higher, health is another Tory scandal.

Queues lengthened to 4.5 million before Covid struck, so the Tories cannot just blame the pandemic because the sickness set in when they imposed the tightest financial straitjacket in history on the NHS.

The terrible truth is lives will be blighted and people will die as a result of the fatal complacency of the Government.

Boris Johnson dressed in a mask having nothing to announce yesterday because Chancellor Rishi Sunak and Health Secretary Sajid Javid failed to reach a deal, is utterly indefensible.

Every wasted day is another 24 hours of agony, stress and danger for people let down by a party who cannot be trusted with our most precious public service.

Not content with failing our essential NHS staff, the Government are failing the whole country.

Clown & out

When PR chum hired to give Boris Johnson a better image declares the Prime Minister is “not a complete clown”, the country will be wondering why we have any type of clown in Downing Street.

Singing Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive and joking he should take the knee when welcoming latest press chief Guto Harri into Downing Street suggests the partying, lying and incompetent PM has not changed a bit.

Serious times demand serious leadership and Johnson is clearly incapable of steering Britain through crises at home and abroad.

This lying clown is a bad joke and it is about time he left the stage.

A worthy goal

Ex-England footballer Emile Heskey has started giving blood (NHS)

Footballer Emile Heskey was a full-blooded centre forward for Liverpool and England in a glittering career.

He has donated blood, is highlighting our Give a Pint, Save a Life campaign and encouraging other black donors to register.

His bid to highlight the risks of sickle cell disease may be his finest goal yet.
