Checking your boiler settings and investing in insulation are among the cost-cutting measures being shared by experts ahead of the predicted energy price cap hike. Ofgem will announce its new cap on Friday, August 26, with latest figures suggesting that it will rise to nearly £3,600 from October.
The independent energy consultancy Auxilione said that its final prediction is for a cap at £3,576 per year for the average household on a standard tariff. They also believe the price cap will hit £4,704 next January and £5,856 in April, the Daily Record reports.
New measures to help people through the crisis are not expected at least until a new Prime Minister is in place on September 5. In the meantime, below are some of the cost-cutting measures which energy experts have been sharing ahead of the price cap rise.
