People on Carer's Allowance due £270 lump sum last week can now report payment missing

More than 81,000 people in Scotland claiming Carer’s Allowance should have received an additional payment of £270.50 on June 9. Carer’s Allowance Supplement is a devolved payment administered by Social Security Scotland, made twice each year to unpaid carers living north of the border.

Payments were being made automatically to those who were in receipt of Carer’s Allowance on April 10, 2023, however, Social Security Scotland has said that some payments may take slightly longer to arrive. If you think you are eligible and did not receive a letter or payment by today - Friday, June 16, call them free on 0800 182 2222.

While it is too late to qualify for the June payment, people making a new claim for Carer’s Allowance to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) by October 9, 2023, will be eligible for the December payment, worth £270.50.
