Many have searched for the secrets of staying young, with myths written about fountains of youth and plastic surgeons making millions off Botox injections. One woman claims to look 15 years younger with one simple skincare tip that you're probably skipping.
In her TikTok, the skincare influencer, who's real name is Elle McNamara says: "I'm 32 and I still get ID'd to get into over 16 beach clubs". The beauty influencer then shares three products all containing on crucial thing - SPF.
"If you still haven't found that SPF that makes you want to put it on every day, these are my top three for you to try," she said.
The skincare influencer, who goes by bambidoesbeauty online, says that her secret to that youthful glow is sun protection, which should be worn year round to prevent any sun damage and keeps wrinkles at bay.
Ella introduces the La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 Aquagel SPF 30, which retails for £35, and claims it will give users the "glass skin" look. She said: "“For my fellow glass skin girls, La Roche-Posay. It’s SPF 30 and it absorbs really quickly.
"I love it for my dry skin but I also think if you’ve got oily skin you’re going to like it because it’s not heavy feeling.
"It doesn’t feel like an SPF. It makes your skin look like a glass… ice-cube."
Her next suggestion was the most expensive of the three at £40, the Charlotte Tilbury Invisible UV Flawless Poreless Primer SPF 50. This she claimed was "for her makeup girls" and said it was "the ultimate hidden gem".
"If you love their flawless filter like I do, you're gonna love this just as much," she added. "It doubles up as a primer and it's really high protection too, it's SPF 50."
Finally she shows the "lazy girl" SPF which is the cheapest of the bunch at just £8.99, the Bondi Sands SPF 50+ Fragrance Free Face Mist. This can be spritzed over the face for an easy SPF boost and doesn't break the bank like the other two.
A commenter added: "Fun fact about the Bondi sands! The face has the same formula as the regular so you can get the nice big tube for pretty cheap" to which Ella replied: "Oooof thats a hack right there!".
SPF is often recommended by dermatologists but needs to be used regularly to see a real benefit. The younger you are when you start, the less sun damage you will have as you age which helps the skin look younger and fresher.
The comments section was filled with people complimenting her youthful glow. One said: "32? I thought you were 17" while another added: "I thought you were in your early 20’s! Wow".
Although the overwhelming number of comments were positive, many pointed out that 32 isn't actually old. A TikTok user commented: "Why are we so obsessed with looking young forever 32 IS YOUNG you look your age it’s not a bad thing."
