When you buy a doorbell camera, you probably expect to catch a nosy neighbour, an intruder or a clumsy delivery driver.
But one woman has been left in disbelief after witnessing a moose doing something that most people didn't even know was possible.
While staying at her sister's house during a snowstorm, Tyra Bogert got a notification from her Ring doorbell camera because it had been triggered by some motion outside.
The Alaskan resident switched onto the live feed - and got to watch a "one-in-a-million occurrence" happen before her very eyes.
In the clip which has now gone viral and been watched by millions of viewers on TikTok on her own account and on her brother-in-law's, the moose can be walking outside.
It's stops in perfect view of the camera, then starts to violently shake its body in a way which has been compared to a dog getting water off.
Then there is a very clear popping sound as the antlers, which measure around 50 inches across, snap off of the moose's head.
The cracking sound seems to scare the majestic creature, which then starts to run away, with a lot less weight on its head.
In a follow-up video also posted on TikTok, Tyra's husband arrives outside the house and picks up the antlers.
As he gets closer to the camera, you get to see just how impressive the massive structures really are when being held by a human.
Tyra says her brother told her to post the amazing video online because he'd never seen anything like it on camera before.
"He's like, 'I don't think there's any video of a moose shedding his antlers and the fact that you had both of them drop at the same time... I don't think that's ever been recorded,'" she told TODAY.com.
She added that they got the Ring camera for their home in the town of Houston, an hour-and-a-half north of Anchorage, for security reasons but it's main job has been capturing local wildlife.
They will now mount the antlers on one of their walls - and many people have told Tyra they had no idea moose shed their antlers in this manner.
She continued: "They're like, 'Oh my gosh, I didn’t even know moose did this in the first place and what do you mean? They can just shake their head and the antlers fall off? They don't have to be like fighting or scratching a tree?' It's pretty crazy how many people are just uneducated on moose."
Only male moose have antlers, which begin growing every Spring inside nourishing skin called velvet.
Around September, the testosterone in male moose surges and the velvet sheds as the antler bones harden.
Bigger antlers are better for impressing females during mating season - and getting rid of them sheds up to a whopping 60 pounds of weight.
But it's clear that not many people know about this, as many took to the comments section of the viral vid to express their confusion.
"Wtf did I just watch? They do that?!," one person wrote, while another added: "I didn't even know this was a THING!!!! THIS IS A THING!!?!?!"
A third agreed: "I didn't realize they just took em completely off like a wig"
