People in Wales are arguing about what 'buzzing' really means

If you've travelled across Wales you've likely encountered people using words in a completely different way than you are used to

Common words and phrases can carry a variety of meanings depending on where you're from, sometimes within the same country.

We asked our readers what does the word "buzzing" mean to you?

One of our readers Andria MacMurray said: "Buzzing = super happy, excited. Good news etc."

Liz Brown said: "It depends. If I'm around someone smelly, they are 'buzzin'... Or I'll say 'I'm buzzing for it' when I'm looking forward to something."

Daniel Mizen said: "Well I’ve worked in London and live in wales - London means excited, awesome - wales means disgusting, smelly."

Ford John Brazel said the word has two different meanings: " 1) something that stinks really bad (my god that chicken is buzzing) 2) something amazing just happened. (I got all A*’s in my exams. I’m buzzing)"

Andy Leonard said: "For me it is the sound my bees make and in turn when people ask, oh you are a beekeeper. I then am so excited if they want to know more."

Jamie Phillips said: "I went to the night club and it was buzzing= full of energy bouncing -excitement. I opened the bin and it was buzzing= rank, putrid, vile. The coins on top of the speaker are buzzing= they are resonating and rattling with low frequency sound waves."

Phil Staddon said: "Too close to a wasp nest."

Joanne Iturbe said: "Excited or smelly."

Samantha Crumb said: "Either.. ecstatic, bad smelling, lively vibe or under the influence of illegal substance."

Anwen Abbott said: "Uncontrollable excitement or something that is absolutely disgusting all depending on the situation."
