The Bangladesh parliament has been dissolved by the president of the country, following the resignation of its prime minister Sheikh Hasina.

After at least 300 people were killed in a violent crackdown against demonstrations which started as student protests for fairer access to government jobs, Hasina fled the country on Monday.
