Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique says Sadio Mane 'still has a lot to give' following an update on his contract situation.
Mane is out of contract in 2023 and is yet to agree terms on a new deal to extend his stay at Anfield beyond next summer. While Mohamed Salah's contract saga has dominated the headlines, little has been said on the Senegalese's future.
Following reports suggesting talks between Liverpool and Mane's representatives over a new deal have broken down, Enrique took to social media and insisted people 'forget how good he is'.

He wrote: "I hope this is not true and they renew his contract. He still has a lot to give Liverpool.
"People forget very quickly how good he is. Not too long ago he was named the best player at the Africa Cup of Nations and they won it too."
In a further response to a fan suggesting the club should sell Mane and keep both Salah and Roberto Firmino, Enrique added: "You believe it is that easy to find a replacement for Sadio?
"Mane has been giving his everything for this club so I really believe he still has a lot to do for us and should stay."
Mane's agent Bjorn Bezemer broke his silence over his client's contract situation this week, as he told TFM Senegal : "We talk a lot with Liverpool but currently we are not talking about a contract extension, we are waiting for the end of the season."
