People feel 'cheated' when they realise what the plastic inside Terry's Chocolate Orange boxes is for

Last month, the internet was sent into a frenzy as people learned of the 'stomach churning' story behind the lion on the Lye's Golden Syrup label. People said they felt 'physically sick' after realising the lion on the front of the syrup tins is, in fact, dead, and surrounded by buzzing insects.

Now another cult product that has been around for years has dumbfounded shoppers. Terry's Chocolate Oranges have been a staple in households for decades - particularly at Christmas time.

Chances are, you may still have one knocking about the house somewhere. If you do, go and open it up immediately, as you'll find something inside the box you never even knew about...until now.

One Tik Toker has uncovered a 'mind-blowing' feature inside the Terry's Chocolate Orange boxes. Once you see it, you'll kick yourself.

Taking to TikTok, Neil Adams - who boasts more than 2,600 followers on his account @michael_adams1138 - shared a video of him demonstrating the handy feature first-hand. Posting the clip to the popular video-streaming service, Neil left people gobsmacked with his clip, which has raked in over 338,000 views since posting.

Captioning post, the TikToker wrote: "Chocolate orange display." Neil recorded himself opening the iconic packaging and pulling out a bit of plastic, which chocoholics most likely have learned to throw in the bin.

However, it can actually be used as a nifty display that makes eating the delicious snack a dream. Taking out the piece of plastic, the TikToker folded either sides of the plastic to create a stand.

Demonstrating the chocolate orange hack, Neil admitted: "I was today years old when I discovered this hack." The handy tip acts as a perfect stand for your chocolate, which tackles the gruelling task of scrambling inside the box for a tasty slice of chocolate.

"Nom, nom, nom," Neil added as he nabbed a section of the chocolate to eat. Flocking to the comments, TikTok users shared their shock after only just discovering the clever function - with one person admitting they've been unaware of the hack for 50 years.

One person noticed a problem: "Could've done with this before Christmas! it's gonna be 12 months before I eat another chocolate orange and what're the chances of me remembering?" "Omg!! I'm hurt," a second added. A third said they'd felt 'cheated' by not knowing this for years.

Meanwhile, a different user praised the idea: "Genius!" A fifth said: "50 years on the planet and still learning."
