People 'amazed' after finding out about Oscar best directors' last movie with Daniel Radcliffe

Everything Everywhere All at Once stormed the 95th Academy Awards on Sunday night, but viewers have been left shocked after finding out what the directors' last film was.

The multiverse sci-fi epic, directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, claimed seven trophies including three acting gongs, best directing and best picture, the biggest of the night. Michelle Yeoh made history at the Oscars, claiming the accolade for best leading actress.

She fended off competition from two-time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett to become the first woman from an Asian background to win the prize. Meanwhile filmmakers Kwan and Scheinert - a duo known as the 'Daniels' - jointly won the best director Oscar, fending off competition from Martin McDonagh, Steven Spielberg, Todd Field and Ruben Ostlund.

It is only the third time the award has gone to a pair of directors, after Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins in 1962 (West Side Story) and Joel and Ethan Coen in 2008 (No Country For Old Men). Scheinert said: “Our fellow nominees you are our heroes. This is weird.

"We want to dedicate this to all the mummies in the world, our mums. Specifically my mum and dad, thank you for not squashing my creativity when I was making really disturbing horror films or really perverted comedy films or dressing in drag as a kid, which is a threat to nobody.”

Kwan said: “The world is opening up to the fact that genius doesn’t stem from individuals like us on stage rather genius emerges from the collective. We are all products of our context. There is greatness in every single person. Thank you so much to everyone who has unlocked my genius.”

But viewers were left surprised when they realised that the film they'd directed prior the to multi-Oscar-winner was a comedy drama starring Daniel Radcliffe as a 'farting corpse.' Swiss Army Man, which featured the Harry Potter actor and Paul Dano, made its debut at Sundance Film Festival in 2016.

Sharing a photo of the directors at the Oscars, @katieisafilmfan tweeted: "These guys literally went from making a farting corpse film starring Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe in 2016 to making an Oscar winning film #Oscars" and @jbensnyder said: "The guys who directed the movie where Daniel Radcliffe's bloated corpse propels itself across an ocean via flatulence have won best picture"

@motelsiren commented: "the daniels also made SWISS ARMY MAN (2016) which is about daniel radcliffe farting his way through the afterlife as a bloated corpse and it also convinced me that i will never find my soulmate and am destined to be forever alone on an island somewhere" while @JeffDelicious added: "Millions of people right now looking up Daniels’ last movie + YouTube clips of Paul Dano riding Daniel Radcliffe’s farting corpse like a jet ski."

@CooperCodes recommended: "While everyone is basking in the awesomeness that is Everything Everywhere All At Once, I’m here to advise you that you should watch their first film Swiss Army Man with Daniel Radcliffe. #Oscars" and @TyLeisher added: "EEAAO is great, but if you haven't seen Swiss Army Man... run to see it. Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe... it's amazing."
