A pensioner has handed in an overdue library book that was taken out nearly 60 years ago while earning an eye-watering £42,340 in late fees.
David Hickman was only 17 when he borrowed 'The Law for Motorists' in 1964 to catch up on the law after being involve in a car accident. When he was younger, David was waving to a group of teens from Dudley High School for Girls while driving.
He then crashed into a car belonging to the town's mayor Councillor W.G.K Griffiths. As a result of the incident, David was arrested.
