Pensioner punched in the face while trying to defend police officers

A woman was punched in the face while defending two police officers.

Angela Sheridan, 72, from Litherland was assaulted in June 2021, as she tried to stop two men from attacking two police community support officers. The officers had seized an electric bike from the youths that was not road legal.

Three other men surrounded the officers and attempted to take the bike back. Angela, who had seen what was happening, stepped in but was punched in the face.
