Police have issued a CCTV appeal after a man gained access to a 91-year-old pensioner’s home and stole money from her in Newcastle.
Officers from Northumbria Police have launched an investigation after a man stole a quantity of cash from the elderly victim at a property on Queens Court in Newcastle.
It was reported that between 10.45am and 12.15pm on Thursday, March 3 a man knocked on the door of the property and told the occupant he was there to check a water leak.

The elderly victim welcomed the man into her home where he looked around the living room and told the 91-year-old he would be back in 20 minutes before leaving the address.
Shortly after the man left, the victim noticed a quantity of cash was missing.
Northumbria Police has now released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.
Officers are appealing to members of the public to come forward with any information which may assist in locating the man.
A spokesman said: "Officers have now identified a man they would like to speak to who was in the area at the time of the incident and may have information that could assist with enquiries.
"The man or anyone who knows him is asked to contact police on 101 or via the ‘tell us something’ page of the website."
