Pensioner, 84, hospitalised after East Dunbartonshire crash

A pensioner has been hospitalised after a crash in East Dunbartonshire.

Police were called to Kirkintilloch Road in Lenzie at around 10.30am on Wednesday following reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a car.

An 84-year-old woman was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Police Scotland confirmed the incident to Glasgow Live on Wednesday night.

Officers failed to disclose if the injured woman was the pedestrian, the driver or a passenger in the car.

They also did not confirm the nature of her injuries nor her current medical condition.

No other injuries have been reported by police at this stage.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told Glasgow Live : “We were called at around 10.30am on Wednesday, June 15 to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian and a car.

"An 84-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.”
