Following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the date of this event has changed and is now reflected below.
The Grimsby team driving pension awareness across the UK are eyeing up an opportunity to help more than half of the population get to grips with their savings.
Pension Geeks was set up almost a decade ago by couple Jonathan Bland and Rachel Parkinson, with the niche financial communications specialist snapped up by industry big-hitter Aegon UK in 2021. Headquartered at Europarc, with use of Ageon's Leadenhall building London base, it remains as an independent operator, hosting employee engagement events, broadcasts and producing other online materials.
Pension Awareness - a dedicated online campaign created by the animator and marketeer combo - returns for a ninth consecutive year on Monday, October 31. Providing free and impartial help, the duo are ready to deliver the most helpful, educational, and memorable Pension Awareness to date - with over 40,000 people having visited the site so far.

It is seen as an enthralling curtain-raiser to the new Pension Attention Campaign that the Association of British Insurers and Pension Lifetime Savings Association will be leading, alongside the Department for Work and Pensions.
The Pension Awareness event - running for five days - will see an ensemble of industry-wide talent, including ex-pensions minister Sir Steve Webb, coming together to help people within the UK make sense of their pension savings and to encourage them to check they’re not missing out on any forgotten money.
Rachel, co-founder of the campaign, said: “At its core Pension Awareness is about giving people practical and meaningful help with their pension and money, and in the face of increased living costs that families are currently battling against, it’s never been more important for us to provide straightforward information and knowledge to help the public make informed decisions about their money.
“The live week and the information we’re providing within the Pension Awareness hub won’t just focus on pensions – there will also be various other sessions on personal finances and money tips, so I’d encourage everyone to have a look around the platform and to get involved with the live shows. Our team of experts will be there waiting to help.”
According to research by the ABI there’s around £1.6 million in forgotten pension pots. Consumers will be able to access free and impartial live shows on various pension and money topics, such as explainers on the state pension and pension credit, how pensions work, and how to find lost pots. Plus, there will be sessions on how to protect and manage personal finances.
The audience will be able to interact with ‘expert geeks’ by asking their money questions through the Pension Awareness live streaming platform. In addition, users can access videos that cut out confusion, read articles and blogs on pensions and money matters, and easily find useful resources via a website that houses the live stream.
Rachel said the backing from 17 industry providers and pension schemes means this year’s campaign has the potential to help more than 41.5 million savers.
