A Pennsylvania man was found guilty of attempted first-degree murder after he broke into his ex-wife’s home and shot her five times. Darrell Long, 63, was also convicted of burglary, aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and misdemeanor harassment.
According to the Centre Daily Times, the jury took a little more than an hour to reach the verdict following a two-day trial. Lebanon County District Attorney Pier Hess Graf noted that the victim, Dawn Long, had been waiting for accountability. “Since the day of the shooting, March 25, this has been what she has been fixated on and hoping for, and I’m so thankful the jury gave her the verdict that she deserved and that the evidence supported it,” she said.
