Penneys is finally opening its doors in The Square Shopping Centre, Tallaght in Dublin on Thursday September 15 with the first customers being able to enter at 9.30am.
The new shop will be located on the ground floor and will offer fashion, homeware, beauty and a nail salon after a long 30 year wait. Head of Penneys Ireland, Damien O’Neill said Penneys "can’t wait to welcome our colleagues and customers into our fantastic new store in Tallaght".
He added: "We know our customers have been waiting for Penneys at The Square for a long time. The store is nearly ready, and we are really excited to finally open our doors next month.

"We’ll have something for everyone all at our everyday affordable prices. We’re proud to continue to expand Penneys in Ireland and keep investing in Irish retail.”
The Tallaght store will be Penneys 37th store in Ireland, It will be the first new store in Dublin in six years after the opening of the shop in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre in December 2016. The new shop is part of the retailer’s commitment to invest €250 million in Ireland over the next decade.
Head of Retail for The Square Town Centre, Jack Martin previously said that the new store is well overdue. He said: “We are absolutely delighted with this announcement as it has been long overdue for Tallaght.
"For many years, the people of Tallaght have been very vocal in their desire to have Penneys in The Square and I have no doubt they will celebrate this news with us and make this opening a very successful and memorable one.
"This will bring jobs and prosperity to Tallaght and we are very excited to be partnering with such a great brand.”
