Penn State cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is a popular pick to the Washington Commanders in many mock drafts. The match makes sense considering Washington’s need at the position and Porter’s skill set.
The Commanders are indeed interested in the 6-foot-2 1/2, 193-pound Porter. Aaron Wilson reported that Washington used a top 30 visit on Porter, hosting him Monday.
Washington isn’t the only interested team in Porter, as the Raiders hosted him, and the Eagles, Ravens, Saints and Panthers will all have him in for a visit.

Porter, Devon Witherspoon [Illinois] and Christian Gonzalez [Oregon] are the top three cornerback prospects in the 2023 NFL draft. Washington is generally thought to be targeting a cornerback or offensive lineman in the first round. So it could be a matter of whether one of the top three corners or offensive linemen is on the board at No. 16 as to whom the Commanders pick.
