The daughter of Brazilian football great Pele said on Wednesday that her family are enduring moments of sadness and despair as her father remains hospitalised.
The 82-year-old was on November 29 admitted to the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo and is currently under "elevated care" related to "kidney and cardiac dysfunctions."
Fears are subsequently growing over Pele's worsening health, though there has been no official update from the hospital over his health since before Christmas.
"These moments are hard to explain. Sometimes it is a lot of sadness and despair, in other moments we laugh and speak about fun memories," Kely Nascimento said on Instagram.
"And what we learn the most from all of this is that we have to seek one another, hold each other tight. That's the only way this is worth it. Everyone together."
Nascimento has been joined by other family members at the hospital, including one of Pele's sons, Edson Cholbi Nascimento, who is known as Edinho, on Saturday. He returned home on December 17 where he works as a soccer coach, according to Association Press.
