Pedro Caixinha branded 'a professional liar' as ex Rangers boss hammered for bizarre strip stunt

Former Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha has been labelled a "professional liar" after losing his first game as Atletico Talleres boss.

He became the first ever Portuguese gaffer to land a job in Argentina when the Primera Division side signed him up at the end of March.

Caixinha raised eyebrows by wearing Talleres' strip at his media unveiling and insisted he would keep it on for the rest of the campaign.

He said: "The reason I am wearing the shirt of this club is that I now consider myself just one more fan.

"I will wear it until the end of the season."

However, he got off to a disappointing start when his side crashed to a 2-1 defeat to Gimnasia in his first game at the weekend.

And Argentina's top football pundit, Pablo Carrozza, has launched an astonishing attack on the flop ex-Ibrox boss.

He said: " Pedro Caixinha is a professional liar.

"Everything is smoke and mirrors with him. He turns up with his strip on and says he won't take it off. He thinks he is still in Mexico. This is Argentina.

"He's totally useless, but someone manages to convince others that he can do the job. It's a disaster waiting to happen."

Caixinha had a disastrous seven-month spell in charge in the Scottish Premiership in 2017, replacing Mark Warburton before he was axed and then returned to Mexico to manage Cruz Azul, then Saudi Arabia at Al-Shabab before returning to his first club in Mexico, Santos Laguna.
