A road in Salthill, Galway has been closed by Gardai and a person taken to hospital following an incident earlier today.
A pedestrian was injured in the area just after 3:30pm this afternoon, with road closures in place.
It is understood that a pedestrian was injured just outside the Catholic Church in Salthill, Co Galway.

They were taken to University Hospital Galway with injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening, a Garda spokesperson confirmed.
The person was said to be “alert and responsive” when an ambulance arrived on the scene to administer care, GalwayBeo reports.
The road between O'Connors Pub and the 3-point roundabout has been closed, with “forensic teams at work".
Traffic had been building in the area according to local sources, with GalwayBeo reporting: “This has caused a huge build-up in traffic on both sides, with warnings in place to expect delays as the road has been closed.”
It is now understood to be easing off, with the road expected to open by 7pm.
A spokesperson from An Garda Siochana told the Irish Mirror: “Gardaí are attending the scene of road traffic incident which occurred in Salthill, Galway, at approximately 3.40pm today 20th June 2022.
“A pedestrian was taken to University Hospital Galway following the incident and it is believed their injuries are non-life-threatening. Enquiries are ongoing.”
