Pedestrian rushed to Glasgow hospital after being knocked down by car on city street

A man was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Glasgow at the weekend.

Traffic police were called to the scene on South Street at 10.30pm on Sunday and the 23-year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Now they are appealing for help in piecing together the circumstances that led to the incident.

Sergeant Gordon Stewart said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who was in the area and who witnessed the crash to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in the area and who may have dash-cam footage which could assist our investigation to contact us."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 3597 of Sunday, March 12.
