A pedestrian was hit by a lorry prompting the closure of a major road, according to reports.
Traffic news service Inrix states that Northway, in Maghull, was closed southbound on Sunday evening (July 10), due to an accident involving a lorry and a pedestrian. The road has been closed from Kenyons Lane to A5147 Westway.
Pictures shared with the ECHO show a cordon in place on Northway, with Merseyside Police and North West Ambulance Service in attendance. Two ambulances were pictured at the scene, while a white tent was erected on the road.

A large cordon appeared to cover both sides of the road, while several police vehicles and officers attended the scene.
The incident was said to have taken place around 10pm and the road remained closed after midnight, according to Inrix.
