In recent court proceedings, David Pecker, a former tabloid executive, revealed details about discussions with Michael Cohen regarding the reimbursement for the McDougal deal. Pecker stated that these discussions took place after American Media Inc. (AMI) had provided the funds for the deal.

Pecker mentioned that he inquired with Cohen multiple times about how the company would be repaid. He emphasized the importance of receiving the reimbursement before September 30, the end of AMI's quarter, and ensuring accurate adjustments on AMI's accounts.
